Reliable Windows Partition Manager for All Windows Users

Description: A Windows partition manager can help you manage your Windows PC easily and securely and make your OS run much smoothly. This post will show you a reliable PC manager.

Keywords: windows partition manager, disk management windows 10, disk manager windows 10, disk partition software

Are you struggling with managing your computer’s storage efficiently? The Windows operating system provides a powerful solution through its built-in tool known as the “Disk Management.” In this article, we will dive deep into understanding what a partition is, the importance of effective partition management, and how to use a Windows Partition Manager to optimize your system’s storage. Whether you’re a tech enthusiast or a casual user, this guide will empower you to take control of your computer’s storage space.

Why do you need a Windows partition manager?

A partition is a logical division of a hard drive that the operating system (OS) and file system treat as distinct units. The operating system and file systems may manage data on each partition as if it were a separate hard disk. This allows the drive to run as numerous smaller parts to enhance performance, but it limits useable hard disk capacity due to added overhead from several operating systems. With it, you copy partition to another drive.

A disk partition manager enables system administrators to create, resize, remove, and alter partitions, whereas a partition table records the partition’s location and size. Each partition appears to the OS as a separate logical disk, and the partition table is read before any other section of the disk.

How to employ Disk Management on Windows

◤ Way 1. Open Disk Management via “This PC”

Right-click “This PC” on the desktop, and choose “Manage” in the context menu. Then, you will get into the Computer Management window, Select and click Disk Management on the left.

◤ Way 2. Open Disk Management via “Run”

Press the Windows key and R key simultaneously to open the “Run” window, type “Diskmgmt.msc” in the empty box and press Enter key (or tap OK).

◤ Way 3. Open Disk Management via “Search”

Click Search, and type “disk management” in the search box and select “Disk Management” in the list.

After you opened the Disk Management, you can use this tool to extend, shrink, create your drive and also fix some other problems.

An all-in-one Windows Partition Manager

Although Disk Management is a useful tool for Windows users, it does have some limitations. To address these shortcomings, we recommend using AOMEI Partition Assistant—an advanced disk management software that effectively overcomes the deficiencies found in Windows’ built-in disk partition manager.

AOMEI Partition Assistant offers enhanced capabilities compared to the native tool. For instance, it allows you to expand a partition even when there is no contiguous unallocated space directly adjacent to it. Regardless of whether the unallocated space is on the left or right side, AOMEI Partition Assistant’s Resize/Move Partition feature enables you to enlarge the partition using available unallocated space.

Furthermore, this tool empowers you to increase the size of a partition even in cases where there is no unallocated space present on the hard drive.

Here, we use the “Allocate Free Space” feature as the example.

When there is not any unallocated space on the disk, you can try the “Allocate Free Space” instead to directly move some free space from one partition to another.

Step 1. Open this software, right-click a partition that has enough space (here is D partition), and then choose Allocate Free Space.

Allocate Free Space

Step 2. Enter the size of free space you would like to add into another partition (here is C drive), and then click OK.

Allocate from D to C

Step 3. Now you can preview that some free space has been allocated to C drive from D partition. Click Apply to save the changes. Then you will extend partition C.

Apply Allocate Free Space

Ending

AOMEI Partition Assistant breaks many restrictions in Disk Management to allow users to flexibly manage their computers and disks. As a reliable Windows partition manager, this tool can also move installed apps, clean junk files, clone disks etc. What’s more, it also has the Server Edition and other advanced editions to help different users manage their devices.
